New in the Meta Horizon Store: HAUNTED brings mixed reality horror into your own home
In the Meta Horizon Store since October 9, 2026: HAUNTED: Are You Alone? turns your scanned room into the level. The store facts at a glance.

The mixed reality horror game HAUNTED: Are You Alone? has been available in the Meta Horizon Store since October 9, 2026. The game uses the player’s scanned room as the level and pairs a short story with three endless arcade modes. According to the store listing, it runs on Quest 2, Quest Pro, Quest 3 and Quest 3S. On October 10 it cost £3.99 in the UK store.
What the game is
HAUNTED is a story-driven horror game with jump scares, light action and an arcade component. The premise: a witch has lived in a house for 100 years and has kept every family that moved in. Now she has found the player. A little girl reaches out over an old rotary phone and guides you through the night.
Instead of stepping into a virtual haunted house, the player stays in their own room via passthrough. The foundation is the room scan from the Quest Space Setup feature. Walls, floor and ceiling become part of the game. According to the studio, any room size works.
The store sums up the concept with the slogan “YOUR ROOM IS THE NIGHTMARE.” It lists the genres as shooter, survival, narrative and action.

Scope: story, arcade and secrets
According to the studio, the story runs about 25 to 35 minutes. It consists of a prologue, seven chapters (The Witch, The Hands, The Doll, The Hole, The Darkness, The Mirror, The Puppy), a finale and an epilogue. The store says “8 chapters + 2 secret chapters” plus three additional game modes.
The three arcade modes are called Grave Rush, Arm Cutter and Skull Hunt. Each takes a monster from the story into an endless wave game. Grave Rush is a zombie shooter in which a wall breaks open into a graveyard. In Arm Cutter, arms burst out of the walls and are fended off with an axe or sword. In Skull Hunt, the beam of a flashlight freezes attacking skulls.
All three modes share combos up to ×8, three hearts, coins and a top-5 leaderboard. In the “Bone Market” shop, weapons are unlocked and upgraded. Two secret chapters can be unlocked with codes that the player draws on the real floor. The studio reveals the details in its own materials; this report avoids spoilers.
Controls and comfort
The game is controlled with the body. Players turn, duck, crawl, lean forward and grab with their hands or controllers. The camera is never moved by the game, so there is no artificial locomotion. If a player fails in a chapter, they get a hint (“Help”) after every death. From the third death in the same chapter, the chapter can be skipped.
Because the game requires crawling and fast movement, a clear play area with no obstacles on the floor is recommended. A seated option is not listed in the store.
Privacy and streaming
According to the studio’s privacy policy dated October 6, 2026, the game does not use a microphone and does not collect data. Progress is saved locally on the headset. For streamers there is a “Hide my room” mode. It replaces the passthrough image with a virtual, padded cell mapped onto the real walls. That keeps the home and furniture out of the stream.
Warnings
The 18+ rating is serious. Every time the app starts, the game shows a two-page content warning. It cites sudden loud noises, flashing and dark light, blood and intense jump scares. According to the studio, the game is unsuitable for children, pregnant women and people with epilepsy, heart conditions or anxiety disorders.
What’s next
The release lands in the weeks before Halloween, when horror is traditionally in demand on the Quest. The version number 0.2.0 suggests further updates are possible; there are no concrete announcements yet. The store page is available at HAUNTED: Are You Alone? in the Meta Horizon Store.
The bottom line
HAUNTED: Are You Alone? is available now for four Quest models. It combines a half-hour horror story in your own room with three arcade modes and two secret chapters. The entry price is low, and the game runs offline and without ads. The target audience is adults who like jump scares and have a clear play area available.
